CONCEPTUAL ACTIONS IN THE LANDSCAPE. DIMENSIONS OF MEMORY
The research project, funded by the Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas - CEDEX, develops a compared landscape to evaluate the new dimensions of mining territories. The project proposes a conceptual mapping displaying associations beyond the old industrial values in areas considered cultural landscapes.
The project selects six mining locations in Spain. The particular conditions of each place are analyzed, and action proposals towards its regeneration are formulated. The goal is to strengthen the identity of these territories and speculate with a new reading and the transformation of the obsolete industrial remnants. The project is sensitive to the memory of the place as a cultural landscape, reinterpreting it in a contemporary way.
