A small space located inside a large shopping center was chosen to create a new beauty salon. Despite its small size, the client's desire was to equip it with several areas, each with a distinct function or treatment: reception, waiting room, manicure, pedicure, eyelashes, and massage. Furthermore, the project and construction had to be completed in a very short timeframe to open for the summer season.<\/p>\n
The project consisted of taking advantage of the store's privileged position, located directly opposite to one of the main entrances to the shopping center, to deliver a friendly and welcoming presence. Therefore, an area with the same width as the entrance and the entire depth of the space is cleared in the middle, flanked by two smaller areas on either side. This main surface is occupied solely by a large varnished, water-resistant MDF piece of furniture that contains the reception and manicure tables. The smaller spaces house the waiting room and more intimate and reserved areas. Some of them are equipped with built-in wardrobes, made with the same materials, details, and finishes as the central piece.<\/p>\n
Standardized and simple construction systems were adopted to streamline project design as much as possible. The carpentry details, material selection, and finishes were all made during the construction works, acknowledging as a unique opportunity the need to complete the design as it was built.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
