This long-term affinity is grounded on the interest that southern architects have in Nordic architecture, extensively focused on its Modern Masters: Alvar Aalto, Erik Gunnar Asplund, Sigurd Lewerentz, Sverre Fehn, Arne Jacobsen, and J\u00f8rn Utzon. The quest for inspiration in the North is the reverse side of a two-fold journey, which started when Nordic architects joined the stream of the Grand Tour in the early 20th century and travelled to the South. After exploring, from the North, the paths of inspiration that influenced several significant works in contemporary architecture, the purpose of the stay in Rome is to document, reflect and write, from the South, about the diverse circumstances, experiences and visions that motivated Nordic architects to start paving the way. Grand Tour<\/em> a principios del siglo XX.
